It’s not a decision that one should take lightly, because not all people are cut out to teach. I know that I am one of those people. I am glad that my daughter seems to be outgoing and intelligent, and I hope that means she won’t have too many problems in school. I don’t want to be my mother. She got some homeschooling information about five years ago and tried to teach my brother at home. It didn’t work out, and he never finished high school, which is a shame. If you want to teach your children at home, make sure you know what you are doing. Look for homeschooling information online to see what you are getting yourself into in the long run. You may or may not be cut out for it. It doesn’t mean you are a bad person if you can’t do it. It just means you aren’t cut out to be a teacher. You can find homeschooling information on the Internet, and if you can find websites totally dedicated to teaching in the home you will have a good idea about what you might be expected to do. I know that I don’t have the patience to teach my daughter myself, and I would not be doing her any favors by teaching her at home. She is also a very outgoing child, and she will suffer from the lack of interaction with other children. I have read enough homeschooling information to know that children taught at home do have interaction and activities with outer children, but I don’t think that would be enough for my little girl. You can also get homeschooling information by talking to other parents who do it. You can find them online, or you may be able to get a hold of them in your own community. Some communities now have homeschooling information networks, and they often share the responsibility of teaching with each other. You should gather as much information as you can find before you decide. It’s not a decision to take lightly, and is never something you should do just because you have one argument or disagreement with your child’s teacher. Many children are pulled out of school for stupid reasons and taught by parents who have no business teaching and their children are the ones that suffer in the end.
