Compare Homeschooling VS Public Schooling Education

Any parents considering homeschooling will be asking themselves what are the pro and cons of homeschooling. So here is a list of what I consider Homeschooling VS Public Schooling that can help parents decide if they would want to explore this road less taken.

Homeschooling:

Studies have shown that peer pressure is one of the reasons why children want to try drugs and sex in a public school. There will be no bullying or teasing on your children by other children. You do not have to wake up very early to rush your children to a 7 hour school day. Your children do not have to deal with abusive teachers if any.

You are able to better concentrate on the emotional development and not the academic aspect of your children. There is definitely more bonding time with your children. Your lessons can be tailored to fit their individual learning styles. Your children will be treated to nutritious, home cook food everyday.

Of course, to do homeschooling, the teacher is usually the parent. This means the parent will bear the burden of taking up the responsibility of educating the children. If the parent is having difficulty developing to be a better teacher due to his or her values, the children may suffer. Parents will be worried about the quality of the education. That is understandable. However, learning is not just the responsibility of the parents exclusively. The children have to be motivated to learn as well.

Public Schooling

Public schools may have an arsenal of materials and equipment ready to be used by your children. Some of these materials may be expensive for you to buy. School life is also learning about life itself, that is where they learn and explore about life. Your child may able to develop some life long friendship from school. Your children may be able to socialize with a greater number of friends readily available from public school. No doubt there will be some good teachers around. They may be better informed in education who knew exactly what they are doing.

Being in public school with so many friends around also means your child may pick up some bad habits like vulgarity, sex and drugs. Your child may not be able to choose the curriculum that she likes to do. Public school food sucks too. Once a while, they may throw all the leftovers together and call it the month's special.

There you got a good comparison of Homeschooling VS Public Schooling. I am not to say homeschooling is the best option. The financial burden is real but the rewards are there also. Your child will have more personal attention rather than in a classroom of 20 to 40 students. What the public school offers is convenience. When the parents are busy with life and work, homeschooling is a hard decision to make. There is no correct answer to this question on homeschooling Vs public schooling.
